Job summary

The Bridge Academy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support teachers and work with individual pupils and small groups, emphasising learners with special educational needs. This fixed-term post includes an SEN allowance reflecting the extra responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be patient, empathetic, and capable of building strong relationships with pupils, families and staff, while promoting inclusion and wellbeing throughout the learning day.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience at that level.
• Experience supporting children or young people in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging, accessible learning activities.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and build key skills.
• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, adapting approaches to individual requirements.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence in learning.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
• Monitor pupils' progress and report achievements and concerns to teachers.
• Prepare classroom resources and keep the learning environment organised.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies at all times.
