Prospero Teaching in Chorley, England is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs within Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The role focuses on 1:1 support, small-group interventions, and classroom assistance to help pupils access education.

Successful candidates will follow EHCPs to tailor support, promote emotional regulation, and build independence while working with experienced staff in a specialist SEN school.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience highly desirable.
• Background in SEN, care, youth work, mentoring, or support work welcomed.
• Psychology graduates encouraged to apply.
• Patient, empathetic, resilient and adaptable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsabilités

• 1:1 support, small-group interventions, and tailored classroom assistance.
• Follow pupils' EHCPs to deliver personalised support that addresses learning, communication and behavioural needs.
• Encourage emotional regulation and develop social skills.
• Establish positive relationships and implement consistent behaviour management strategies.
