Job summary

Simply Education Ltd. is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant in Meldreth to support children aged 6-19 with complex needs. The role involves assisting learning across settings, promoting independence and personal development, and working with a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute toward educational goals, maintain a safe environment, and engage with training opportunities to enhance practice in a specialist SEN setting. Term-time elements may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have empathy and patience to support children with additional needs.
• Prepared to undertake training and work towards relevant qualifications.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support students with learning, development and progress across environments.
• Provide individualised support for students with complex SEN, autism, etc.
• Help students work towards educational, personal and independence goals.
• Support positive behaviour, communication and emotional wellbeing.
• Promote equality, inclusion, dignity and respect.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and life skills.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider team.
• Support learning in classroom, community and outdoors.
