Job summary

The Special Partnership Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with profound, severe and complex learning needs, assisting the Teacher with lessons and day-to-day activities.

You will establish supportive relationships, monitor health and wellbeing, help with classroom resources, and support pupils to engage in learning across the school.

There is a strong emphasis on safeguarding, pastoral care and teamwork within a dedicated staff group, with opportunities for training.

Responsibilities

• Assist children in developing knowledge, skills and attitudes as defined by the curriculum.
• Establish supportive relationships with pupils and encourage development.
• Carry out administration related to pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Effectively support pupils' health and wellbeing under supervision.
• Assist with the safe physical and medical needs of pupils as trained.
• Support pupils with challenging behaviour and social integration.
• Deliver therapy to pupils such as physiotherapy or speech therapy as guided by professionals where training has been undertaken.
