Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd. is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant in Haywards Heath to support children with complex needs, including ASD, in a primary setting. The role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to enable every pupil to access learning and reach their potential.

The ideal candidate has prior primary school experience with SEN and a patient, nurturing approach. DBS is desirable; we offer CPD and support throughout placement.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting is essential.
  • Experience supporting children with a range of SEN and additional needs.
  • Understanding of complex needs, including ASD, SLD and PMLD.
  • A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach to supporting children.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Good organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to inclusion and supporting every child's individual learning needs.
  • A valid DBS certificate is desirable; assistance can be provided with processing one if required.

Job description

Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs / ASD

Location: Haywards Heath

Salary: £110-£130 per day

Hours: 8:15am - 4:00pm

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long-term

Empowering Learning is currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming and inclusive school in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. This is a long-term opportunity supporting children with complex needs, including ASD.

Candidates must have previous experience working in a primary school setting, supporting children with a range of additional needs and SEN. Experience supporting pupils with ASD, SLD and PMLD would be particularly beneficial.

We are looking for someone patient, nurturing and enthusiastic who can build positive relationships with pupils and work closely with teachers and other support staff to help children access learning and reach their potential.
