Job summary

Positive Futures Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant Specialist SEN School in Stanstead Abbotts. This full-time, term-time role involves 34 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 8:45am-3:45pm with a 30-minute lunch) supporting pupils aged 219 with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and challenging behaviour.

The role offers a supportive environment with excellent facilities. Prior experience is not required; backgrounds in care or youth work are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Role focuses on supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with personal care, social development, hygiene, first aid and general welfare.
• Provide administrative support to teachers (photocopying, filing, record keeping).
• Assist with planning and delivering individual education plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
• Use specialist knowledge to support learning.
• Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Promote inclusion and help pupils integrate with peers.
• Support pupils during swimming or hydrotherapy sessions.
