Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, temporary-to-permanent role in Royston, Hertfordshire. You will support pupils with SEND, helping them access lessons and develop life skills in a nurturing school environment.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, GCSEs with strong literacy and numeracy, and reliable transport to commute. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:40pm, with training and career development opportunities the school offers.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND - essential.
• GCSEs, including good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with SEND to engage with lessons and develop life skills.
• Provide tailored support based on individual pupil needs and routines.
• Encourage communication, engagement and independence.
• Support learning activities and classroom routines.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Help maintain a safe, structured and supportive environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and the wider school team.
