Job summary

Aspire People is assisting a welcoming school in Royston, Hertfordshire, to recruit a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant. The role supports pupils with SEND, aims to develop specialist skills and progress toward a permanent position.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:40pm, with a view to permanent progression and access to further SEND training. Transport or reliable commuting arrangements are required for site access.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• GCSEs with good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different pupil needs.
• Reliable and professional approach to work.
• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
• Own transport or reliable commuting arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Providing tailored support to meet individual pupil needs.
• Encouraging engagement, communication and confidence.
• Supporting classroom activities and learning objectives.
• Helping pupils develop social and independent living skills where appropriate.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff.
• Maintaining a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
