Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support ALN pupils in Pontypridd. The role involves assisting classes, supervising activities, and delivering lessons under the guidance of the lead teacher in primary, secondary or SEN settings.

Ideal candidates will have SEN experience, a proactive work ethic, patience, and the ability to work well in a team. Roles vary between full-time and part-time, with school hours from 8:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, in Wales.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with children with SEN.
• Proactive work ethic.
• Good understanding of special educational needs.
• Ability to provide a range of support to pupils.
• Patient and understanding attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and supervising activities within the classroom.
• Helping learners stay on task and understand lessons.
• Work in partnership with other members of staff.
• Working with learners in small groups and 1:1 with learners with additional needs.
• Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons.
• Assist learners at break time with their lunch where needed.
• Engage learners in the classroom and out of classroom activities.
• Work in accordance to the schools behaviour management policies.
