Job summary

Term Time Teachers Ltd seeks a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in the Robertsbridge area. You will support primary-aged pupils with autism and a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning and develop confidence throughout the school day.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, practical and sensory activities, and close collaboration with teachers and the SEN team to implement individual plans and promote independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with autism or other additional needs is desirable.
• Background in care, childcare, autism support, speech and language support, psychology or similar is welcome.
• Patience, adaptability and the ability to build positive relationships are essential.
• Willingness to move into education from related fields is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Help pupils access learning through practical and sensory activities.
• Support communication, interaction and social development.
• Help pupils manage emotions and regulate behaviour.
• Follow individual support plans and provide a consistent approach.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team.
