Job summary

Aspire People in Hinckley is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored one-to-one and small-group assistance, helping pupils access the curriculum and grow confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience as SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role is essential.
• Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service essential or willing to obtain one before starting.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs or SEMH is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach with a good safeguarding understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils with learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and independence.
• Prepare learning resources and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents and other professionals to support pupil progress.
