Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across mainstream and specialist schools in West Yorkshire. You will help pupils access learning, develop independence and reach their potential.

The role includes 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with autism, ADHD and complex learning needs, adapting activities, supporting EHCPs and behaviour plans, monitoring progress, and collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is welcomed.
• DBS check is mandatory.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• CV covering last 10 years of employment and any breaks must be explained.
• Willingness to attend a registration interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support in classrooms.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, and complex needs.
• Adapt learning activities to individual needs.
• Assist with EHCPs and Behaviour Plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and use de-escalation techniques.
• Provide emotional, social and pastoral support.
• Log communications with parents or carers.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing.
