Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN in Sutton Coldfield. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to deliver personalised learning throughout the day across a range of needs, including ASD, SLD and PMLD.

The role requires patience, compassion and the ability to form positive relationships with children. You may provide personal care and support mobility, following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN or specialist education preferred.
• Patience, calmness and resilience are essential.
• Caring, compassionate and able to build trusting relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Support pupils to access personalised learning activities.
• Support children with ASD, SLD and PMLD.
• Help pupils develop communication, independence and life skills.
• Support sensory regulation and emotional needs.
• Provide personal care where required.
• Assist with toileting and other personal-care routines.
• Support pupils with mobility needs and manual handling.
• Follow individual care plans and school procedures.
• Create a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment.
