Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Bristol and surrounding areas. A full UK driving licence is essential and opportunities exist for both full-time and part-time positions.

You will work with pupils with a range of needs, providing 1:1 and small group support to help them access learning and achieve targets, in various specialist schools and provisions.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care or support settings.
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Confident supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils.
  • Help pupils access learning and develop social skills.
  • Assist pupils in achieving individual targets.

Protocol Education is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of specialist schools and provisions in Bristol and the surrounding areas. Due to the nature and location of some of our partner schools, a full UK driving licence is essential.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Speech and Language Difficulties
  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties

You will provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils to access learning, develop social skills and achieve their individual targets.

What We're Looking For
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, care or support settings

  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviours
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
