SEN Teaching Assistant - complex needs, Dudley
Prospero Teaching is working with an SEN school based in Dudley that is seeking a caring, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs.

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils who have a range of complex needs, including:
- Severe learning disabilities
- Emotional and behavioural challenges
- Physical disabilities
- Medical conditions requiring specialist care
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Individual Learning: Working 1-1 with students, providing support based on each child's specific needs, helping them understand lessons and participate in activities.
- Assisting with Communication Needs: Helping students with speech and language difficulties to communicate effectively using various strategies.
- Supporting Behavioural and Emotional Needs: Managing behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
- Assisting with Sensory Needs: Supporting students who require sensory breaks or creating sensory-friendly environments.
- Supporting Personal Care: Assisting students with personal care when needed.
- Collaborating with the Team: Working closely with teachers and support staff to monitor progress and meet students' needs across school life.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with complex needs is essential, including roles supporting children with autism, sensory needs, or learning difficulties.
- A patient, understanding, and flexible approach, adaptable to each child's needs.
- A positive, proactive attitude, able to think on your feet.
- Strong communication skills, including with students who have limited verbal communication, using alternative methods as needed.
- A qualification in supporting teaching and learning (Level 2 or 3) or equivalent.
