Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Sheffield is seeking a nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist SEN school. This very high-needs setting requires patience, empathy and a calm, consistent approach to aid learning and wellbeing.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, supporting pupils with complex needs, SEN and SEMH, while collaborating with teachers and the school team to promote development and positive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or complex needs.
• Genuine nurturing, patient and empathetic approach.
• Confident working in a very high-needs environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Previous experience in a specialist SEN setting is desirable.

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking nurturing and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist SEN school in Sheffield.

This is a very high-needs setting, supporting pupils with complex additional needs who require a high level of care, patience, consistency and individualised support.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs.
• Support pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional needs.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support emotional regulation, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Assist with learning, communication and personal development.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team.

About You

Pay

£95-£120 per day, with the opportunity to earn towards the higher end of the scale depending on your experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.
