Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant in the Bovingdon area to support pupils with additional needs and help them access the curriculum. The role offers full-time hours, weekly payments and a supportive, safeguarding-focused environment.

The successful candidate will work with teachers, SENCOs and parents to tailor learning approaches, building confidence and progress for each pupil.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is preferred.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting positive behaviour.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
Previous experience within a primary or secondary school is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
Support pupils with needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
Help pupils access the curriculum by adapting activities and providing appropriate learning support.
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence and independence.
Monitor pupil progress, wellbeing and communicate relevant information to teachers and SENCOs.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers and external professionals.
