Job summary

Academics is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant in Crawley for September 2026 to support children aged 6-18 with social, emotional and mental health challenges. You will work alongside teachers and therapists to create a safe, engaging learning environment.

A genuine passion for SEND, a caring and resilient nature, and a proactive attitude are essential. DBS check is provided, and the role offers permanent opportunities and training in behaviour management and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• A genuine desire to work with children with special education needs
• Caring, compassionate and resilient nature
• A 'can-do' attitude and proactive approach
• DBS check is supported by the client
• GCSE grades in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff
• Ensure that equipment and facilities are safe for the children to use
• Preparation of activities and tidying away after
• Developing an understanding with a child to maintain an optimal learning environment
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately
