Job summary

The Norton Knatchbull School is seeking an apprentice to provide targeted support for pupils aged 11–18 within a secondary school environment. The role involves 1:1 mentoring and small group work to boost learning and engagement, with feedback shared with teachers to inform next steps.

You will work closely with teachers, parents and carers, contributing to safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice while gaining Level 5 apprenticeship training through HOET.

Qualifications

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to access learning.
• Maintain detailed records of learning / observations for feedback to pupils and staff.
• Align teaching with the National Curriculum and school assessment documents.
• Organise and deliver small group interventions.
• Support colleagues effectively in a busy school environment.
• Collaborate with teachers/parents/carers to improve outcomes.
• Stay updated on Additional Educational Needs developments.
• Contribute to pupil behaviour management and safeguarding.
• Provide administrative support for the Inclusion Manager.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all work.
• Respect confidentiality when sharing information.

Responsibilities
