Job summary

Academics in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, seeks an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our valued schools in the B75 area. The ideal candidate has prior Reception classroom exposure.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1-to-1 support for pupils with SEND and help develop communication and social skills inside and outside the classroom. The role requires DBS (update service) and a commitment to ongoing training; salary will reflect qualifications and experience

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in school or similar setting.
• Current Enhanced DBS on update service.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training.
• Reception classroom experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging 1-to-1 support for pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils' learning, communication and social development inside and outside the classroom.
• Work closely with the SENDCO and teacher to deliver tailored learning plans.
• Assist with personal care as needed, with patience and compassion.
