Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant for a North Bristol primary school in the Bishopston area. The role focuses on providing tailored support for children with autism (ASD) to help them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

As part of a friendly team, you will deliver 1:1 and small-group support, work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment. Immediate start available; term-time hours apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in school, nursery or care settings.
• Calm, patient and positive in approach.
• Ability to work well in a team and build relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive social interaction.
• Use visual timetables, communication aids and structured routines.
• Collaborate with class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support.
• Help foster a calm, engaging and nurturing classroom environment.
