Job summary

Teach South Sussex is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across primary and secondary SEN schools in the Worthing area from September 2026.

We are looking for compassionate and reliable individuals who have experience supporting children and young people with additional learning needs. These roles require patience, empathy and the ability to build positive relationships around communication, learning, behaviour and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with pupils with SEN / additional needs.
• Calm, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of consistency and positive behaviour support.
• Willingness to work across different specialist provisions in Worthing area.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with additional learning needs across primary and secondary SEN settings.
• Build positive relationships with pupils requiring extra support with communication, learning, behaviour or emotional regulation.
• Be flexible to work across different SEN provisions in Worthing and surrounding areas.

We are looking for compassionate and reliable individuals who have experience supporting children and young people with additional learning needs.These roles are ideal for candidates who are patient, understanding, and able to build positive relationships with pupils who may require extra support with communication, learning, behaviour, or emotional regulation.

Successful candidates will have:

• Previous experience working with pupils with SEN / additional needs (school, care, youth work, or similar settings)
