Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Area: Witney, Oxfordshire
Contract: Fulltime, Permanent
Start: April 2025
Salary: Dependent on experience

An outstanding and highly reputable SEN school in Witney, Oxfordshire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their permanent staff team from April 2025 or sooner.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and is looking to make a meaningful difference in a supportive and dynamic school environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities that meet individual student needs.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Using various communication methods and adaptive strategies to support student learning.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, either in a school or similar setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and a patient, caring approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to adapt to different situations and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN (desirable but not essential).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
