SEN Teaching Assistant

Position Details

Full-time, long-term role based in the Wirral Area.

Start date: As soon as possible.

Must be comfortable with personal care.

The School

An SEN school supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, CLD, and PMLD. The school values nurturing relationships and providing a supportive environment with firm boundaries. Training opportunities include accredited Team Teach and Safeguarding courses, supporting professional development. The role is for the academic year with potential for permanent placement.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEN, including ASD and ADHD.
  • Provide 1:1 emotional support and assistance if pupils are behind with work.
  • Complete progress reports on pupils' development.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Offer flexible support in both 1:1 and group settings.
  • Handle matters calmly and professionally.
  • Establish positive relationships and support pupils in regulating their feelings.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Resilient and patient nature.
  • Immediate availability to start.
  • Previous experience in support or care work.
