Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to support secondary students with a range of additional needs and behavioural challenges in a North East Northamptonshire school. You will provide classroom and 1:1 support, help manage difficult behaviours, build trusting relationships and promote engagement with learning throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH and/or behavioural needs.
• Confident supporting secondary-aged students.
• Proactive, resilient and able to use their initiative.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Can remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Supporting secondary-aged students with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Providing classroom and targeted 1:1 support where required.
• Supporting students who present with challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with students.
• Encouraging engagement with learning and helping students overcome barriers.
• Promoting positive behaviour and helping students develop appropriate strategies.
• Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team.
• Supporting students both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.
• Being proactive in identifying when students require additional support.
• Maintaining a calm, consistent and positive approach.

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs? Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a proactive and resilient SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a school in North East Northamptonshire, supporting secondary-aged students with a range of additional needs and behavioural challenges.

Responsibilities

• Supporting secondary-aged students with SEN and SEMH needs
• Providing classroom and targeted 1:1 support where required
• Supporting students who present with challenging or dysregulated behaviour

This would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, SEMH Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Support Assistant or Youth Worker with relevant experience.
