Job description

The school I am recruiting for is based in south Birmingham and is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant with experience working 1:1. The role involves supporting a child with SEMH in a secondary school setting on a 1:1 basis. The child is keen to learn, enjoys craft activities, and is described as very creative. Although initially shy, they become quite humorous once comfortable, form strong relationships with adults, and are a pleasure to work with. They require support with social skills, peer relationships, and emotional regulation. Their behavior is excellent, and they follow instructions well.

The setting has average EAL and SEND needs for the area and provides additional support such as 1:1 assistance and a resource base for children with additional needs. Staff feedback is highly positive, describing the school as extremely supportive.
