Job summary

The Cowbit St Mary’s Church of England Academy is seeking a motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with diverse educational needs and to assist teaching staff. You will work with families and contribute to classroom interventions, helping students develop literacy and numeracy skills.

The role requires a compassionate, proactive approach, commitment to safeguarding and the ability to work well within a team to improve student outcomes and foster confidence and independence.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible and experienced team player, ELSA training is strongly desirable.

The successful candidate will be committed to helping children to succeed, have excellent communication skills and be able to work on their own initiative.

Overview of the role of SEN Teaching Assistant:

Providing support to students in and out of the classroom

Assisting Teachers with a range of educational needs

Providing students with the care and compassion they need to thrive in school

Liaising with parents and external agencies where suitable

Supporting with appropriate interventions such as literacy and numeracy

Work collaboratively as a team to improve outcomes for our students
