Job summary

PK Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants for mainstream primary schools across Sheffield. Multiple roles available, full-time and part-time, with opportunities for long-term placements.

You will support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them access learning in an inclusive classroom. Ideal candidates have caring, patient approaches and experience with ASC, ADHD or SEMH needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND in schools or similar settings.
  • Ability to support 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Ability to promote inclusive, engaging learning environments.
  • DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs within mainstream primary settings.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions and assist with classroom learning.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Help create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Demonstrate patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
  • Show strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Contribute to pupils' development and wellbeing.

Are you a caring, patient and passionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are currently recruiting for multiple SEND Teaching Assistant roles across mainstream primary schools in Sheffield. These rewarding opportunities are ideal for individuals who are committed to helping every child reach their full potential and thrive within the classroom environment.

Whether you have experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language difficulties, or additional learning needs, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support for pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. Your role will be to help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where children feel supported, safe and confident.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs within mainstream primary settings
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group interventionsAssisting with classroom learning and promoting engagement
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND in schools, care, youth work or similar settings
  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
