What You'll Be Doing as an SEN Teaching Assistant

As An SEN Teaching Assistant In Slough, You Will

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, MLD, and Down Syndrome.
• Help implement structured routines, visual timetables, and communication strategies like PECS or Makaton.
• Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Assist with personal care and sensory needs when necessary.

• Have experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism, MLD, or Down Syndrome.
• Are calm, patient, and consistent in your approach to behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Have a good understanding of inclusive education practices.
• Bonus if you have: Team Teach, PECS, or Makaton training - though not essential!
