Academics is partnering with welcoming secondary schools in Reading to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants. You will support students with a range of learning needs, collaborating with teachers and the SEN team to tailor support and monitor progress.

This role offers ongoing professional development, a dedicated consultant, and opportunities to work in supportive schools across Reading, with competitive daily pay based on experience.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School Reading

Academics is working with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools in Reading that are looking to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants. The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional learning needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting students with SEN in the classroom to help them access learning and achieve their individual goals.
• Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
• Working one-to-one and in small groups to build students' confidence, independence and engagement.
• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to monitor progress and adapt support where needed.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Providing personal care or mobility support where required.
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with school staff and parents.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.
