Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Primary School Penzance is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in and out of the classroom. The role is part-time (30 hours per week) on a fixed-term contract to Aug 2028, with a pro rata salary in the range £25,185 to £25,989.

Qualifications

• Experience as a teaching assistant or similar role preferred.
• Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in classroom activities.
• Commitment to promoting a Catholic ethos where applicable.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil on a 1:1 basis and assist with classroom activities.
• Help to plan and deliver learning tasks to raise standards.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, parents and governors to support pupil progress.
• Promote positive behaviour and a welcoming learning environment.
