Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Oxford is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged pupils with complex needs, aligned to Early Years developmental levels. The role is long-term with an immediate start and involves one-to-one and classroom assistance to foster communication, independence and engagement with learning.

The successful candidate will adapt activities to individual developmental levels, collaborate with teaching staff and contribute to a nurturing learning environment

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with complex additional needs?

Do you have the patience and resilience to support secondary-aged pupils working at an Early Years level?

Are you confident adapting your approach to meet individual learning, communication and developmental needs?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND setting in Oxford supporting secondary-aged pupils with complex needs. Although pupils are secondary age, their learning and developmental needs are more closely aligned with the Early Years stage, requiring a highly personalised and nurturing approach to education.

The setting is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide individual and classroom support, adapt activities to pupils' developmental levels and work closely with teaching staff to support communication, independence and engagement with learning.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with complex additional needs
• Confidence supporting secondary-aged pupils working at an Early Years level
• The ability to adapt activities and communication to individual developmental needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
