Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in Croydon. You will support pupils with SEN, including autism, helping them engage in learning and develop communication, social and independence skills.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience with children or young people with SEN, be patient and adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. DBS disclosure is required or willing to apply.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Be confident supporting pupils with Autism and additional learning needs.
• Have a patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Be comfortable supporting students who may display challenging behaviours.
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must have a child and adult DBS or be willing to apply for one.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who is passionate about helping students reach their full potential.

The role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs within a specialist school environment. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance, encourage engagement in learning and help students develop their communication, social and independence skills.

We are looking for someone who is patient, proactive and confident supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Autism and potentially challenging behaviours.
