Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Newcastle, with an ASAP start. You will support students with SEN in the classroom, encouraging engagement and providing additional individual support as needed.

The role involves working alongside teaching staff to help create an inclusive learning environment and manage behaviour effectively, with a dedicated 24/7 consultant support system and access to CPD courses.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Experience supporting students with SEN.
• Experience within a secondary school is desirable.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• A patient and supportive approach to working with young people.
• The ability to be flexible and adaptable.

Salary: £140 - £160 per day

The school is looking for someone who can help create an inclusive learning environment where students with additional needs feel supported and encouraged.

The school is looking to take on an SEN Teaching Assistant for day-to-day work with an ASAP start. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work alongside teaching staff to support students with SEN in the classroom, encouraging engagement with learning, providing additional individual support where required and helping to manage behaviour effectively.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
• Experience supporting students with SEN
• Experience within a secondary school is desirable
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A patient and supportive approach to working with young people
• The ability to be flexible and adaptable
