Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant in the Manchester area, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in an OFSTED rated 'Good' alternative provision. The role is full-time and long-term from October, with daily rates of £92.63–£110.00.

You will help manage challenging behaviour, encourage engagement, and build positive relationships with pupils throughout the school day, working with a dedicated team to ensure consistent guidance and progress.

Are you a resilient and patient SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term opportunity within an alternative provision?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an OFSTED rated ‘Good’ alternative provision in Failsworth, supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a supportive environment for pupils who require additional guidance and consistency throughout their education.

The provision is looking to take on a SEMH Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from October. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping to manage challenging behaviour, encourage positive engagement and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
• Experience managing challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
