Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN and SEMH needs in Maidenhead. The role involves 1:1 and group support, working alongside experienced staff to help students learn and grow, with safeguarding and DBS checks required.

You will assist in classrooms, support learning with tailored approaches, and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment for young people.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is preferred.

Job description

GSL are looking for enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with SEN and SEMH needs in a supportive school in Maidenhead, working on a 1:1 and group basis. If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Graduate, Support Worker, Sports Coach or someone with a positive attitude, we want to hear from you!

You will support students in the classroom, help with 1:1 and group activities, and work alongside experienced staff to help students learn and grow. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to students, working closely with teachers and other staff to help meet their individual needs.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Maidenhead
Salary Scale: £92-£115 per day
Contract Type: Full-time

Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to understand the specific needs of the student
• Implement and adapt educational plans to support the student's individual learning requirements
• Provide one-on-one assistance to the student during classroom activities and lessons.
• Support students with SEMH, autism and ADHD, adapting approaches to their individual needs
• Assist in managing behaviour challenges and promote positive engagement.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, especially supporting students with SEMH, autism, ADHD and behaviour challenges is advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team
