Job summary

We are seeking an experienced SENDTeaching Assistantto provide 1:1 support for a boy in year 5 with significant social and emotional needs. This is a full-time opportunity to start ASAP and is likely to continue until the end of the academic year.

The role

In this role you will be providing 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil within a primary school setting in Merton. The student is new to the school and presents with SEMH needs andmay display distressed and challenging behaviour. The idealcandidate must have significant experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs, trauma-informed approaches, and behaviours that challenge. Resilience, consistency, and the ability to build trusting relationships over time will be essential. The ability to remain calm under pressure, effectively de-escalate situations, and maintain a safe, predictable learning environment is critical.

The role requires commitment and consistency and will continue until July 2027.
