Job summary

Philosophy Education LTD. is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with significant SEMH needs in a Merton primary school.

This full-time role starts ASAP and runs until July 2027. You will need trauma-informed approaches, resilience, and strong skills in de-escalation and building trusting relationships.

The setting is a small, friendly 1-form-entry school with a Rights Respecting ethos and close home–school partnerships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
• Trauma-informed approaches to behaviour.
• Resilience and consistency with building trusting relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil.
• De-escalate challenging situations and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Build trusting relationships to support pupil wellbeing and engagement.
• Work within a primary school setting in Merton, collaborating with staff.
