Qualiteach Education Group is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant in Lambeth to provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD and ADHD in an EYFS Reception class. You will work closely with the teacher to support learning, routines and communication throughout the day.

The ideal candidate has prior SEN experience, especially with ASD/ADHD, and can create an inclusive learning environment. Regular liaising with the SENCO is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD and ADHD.
• Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Experience in an early years setting (EYFS/Reception) would be advantageous.
• Ability to monitor and record progress and liaise with the SENCO.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD and ADHD throughout the school day.
• Assist the child to access classroom activities and follow routines.
• Monitor progress and adapt support to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to discuss progress and strategies.

The Position - SEN Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD and ADHD within an EYFS Reception class.The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the child's learning, development and engagement throughout the school day. You will help the child access classroom activities, follow routines, develop communication and social skills, and build greater independence within the learning environment.The role will also involve monitoring and recording the child's progress, identifying areas of development and adapting support to meet their individual needs. You will liaise regularly with the school's SENCO, sharing observations and contributing to discussions around the child's progress and support strategies.The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive and nurturing, with a good understanding of neurodiversity and the ability to create a positive, structured and inclusive environment. Previous experience supporting children with ASD and ADHD, particularly within an early years setting, would be highly advantageous.The successful candidate will work from 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday.
