Job summary

Veritas Education are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for an excellent SEN School specialising in ASD and non verbal students in Kirkham, England. The role involves providing one-on-one or small group support and working closely with teachers to support individual learning.

You'll need an interest or experience with SEN, a good grasp of the National Curriculum, and a calm approach to behaviour management. DBS and safeguarding checks apply, and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• DBS Disclosure required and safeguarding checks in line with policy.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
• CV should cover the last 10 years of employment with explanations for any gaps.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum to support learning.
• Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.

• Monitor and track progress, giving feedback to staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the holistic development of students.
• Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to the teaching staff.
• Be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Have good knowledge of the National Curriculum to support students with their learning.
• An optimistic outlook and determination to make a difference to children's education.
