SEN Teaching Assistant Gayton, Norfolk. Are you an experienced SEN TA with experience supporting learners who have additional needs either in a mainstream or special needs school?
Are you seeking a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity?
We are working with a local primary school that offers a dedicated provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role provides the chance to work in a nurturing environment, where class sizes are small, and you will be part of a close-knit team of support staff.
Many of the children are non-verbal, so strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to use creative, clear, and playful methods that are repetitive to help children understand. Some students will also require personal care, and the ability to provide this support is important.
This role can be challenging due to the unpredictable nature of some behaviours, but it is incredibly rewarding, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children who need it most. If you're patient, compassionate, and ready for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
If so, please get in touch today.
As an SEN TA, you will offer one-to-one and group support to pupils with ASD across KS1 & 2. Some pupils are non-verbal, so experience using communication aids like PECs and Makaton would be advantageous.
You will not only assist the children with various curriculum learning activities but also have dedicated time to focus on this specific developmental area using P Levels to track all areas of development and progression.
