SEN Teaching Assistant

Full Time

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to collaborate with our teachers in providing exceptional support to our students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside our teachers in classes, small groups, or on an individual basis, ensuring that our students receive the personalized attention they require. This role also offers opportunities to work one-on-one with students with autism. We welcome applications from individuals with prior experience working with secondary-age students in a learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Support the academic and personal development of SEND students in classes, small groups, or individually
  • Attend to the physical needs of students with disabilities, providing necessary assistance and accommodations
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students with autism, fostering their growth and progress
  • Work harmoniously with professionals, including specialist therapy providers, to ensure comprehensive care for students
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to the unique needs of students
  • Maintain a positive and nurturing atmosphere that encourages student engagement and well-being

We have Teaching Assistant vacancies with immediate start dates, both full and part time roles available. Monday - Friday (8.30 - 15:30)

The successful candidates will have;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • A passion and desire to support students in an education setting

Currently, we are looking for entry level teaching assistants, learning mentors and general classroom support staff to help support students. Due to the pandemic, schools and children have not been able to perform to the level and standards that they normally would which has resulted in students falling behind academically. Our clients based across Barking and Dagenham are looking to get their students back up to speed by increasing the amount of 1-1 and small group support.The successful candidate will be ambitious and passionate about working with students and want to make a differencereliable with strong attendance and punctuality have a background such as graduate, nanny, care worker, youth worker, sports coach or any other previous experience that you think would have transferable skills would be highly recommended to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
