Job summary

Etchells Primary School in Heald Green is seeking a Teaching Assistant (SEND) to support in our resource base for children with additional needs. The role involves assisting in lessons, supporting pupils with medical needs and their social and emotional well-being, and working under guidance of teaching staff, SENCo, Headteacher and external agencies.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEND in primary age, be flexible and proactive; this is a permanent, term-time only post with 32.5

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8.30-3.30 (Including 30 mins unpaid lunch break) Term time only

We wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting Special Educational Needs in the primary age range to support in our resource base for children with additional needs.

The main duties of this role will involve:

• Supporting children in lessons as well as with their medical needs and social and emotional well-being.
• Supporting pupils with EHCPs and SEND Support Plans with their learning and development in both the classroom and our Resource Base.
• Work under the guidance of teaching staff, SENCo, Headteacher and outside agencies in order to implement and evaluate agreed work programmes.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, committed and can show initiative. The successful candidates will be able to communicate effectively with teaching staff, the SLT and work efficiently within the SEND team. This is a hugely rewarding role for the right person and training can be given where needed.
