We are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school based in Gloucester. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a Key Stage 1 pupil who has ASD and behavioural needs, providing consistent and effective support throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support the pupil's learning, development and engagement within the classroom. The role will also involve helping the pupil to manage their behaviour, emotions and routines, while providing a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
This role is full-time and long-term, starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with additional needs and be confident supporting pupils with ASD and behavioural needs on a 1:1 basis.
Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
Have experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting.
Have experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or behavioural needs.
Be confident providing 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs.
Have a good understanding of behaviour management and strategies to support positive behaviour.
Be patient, calm and consistent when supporting pupils with additional needs.
Have experience working collaboratively with class teachers and the wider school team.
Have a DBS registered on the Update Service or one that was issued within the last 12 months.
Be able to provide a minimum of two excellent references.
Have recent UK school-based experience.
Competitive salary of up to £100 per day, depending on experience.
