Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring, patient, and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs at a supportive secondary school in Folkestone. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners who require additional support to thrive in their education.

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.

• Help deliver tailored interventions to support academic, social, and emotional progress.

• Assist in adapting classroom materials to suit individual learning needs.

• Build strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.

• Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in school, care, or youth settings).

• A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.

• A DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel).

• Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella company fees.
