Are you a caring, patient and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs?

GSL Education is currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Chelmsford from September 2025. This is a long-term, full-time position supporting a child in the classroom who requires additional support with learning, communication, and emotional development.

What the Role Involves:

Providing 1:1 support to a child with SEN (e.g. autism, speech and language needs, or social/emotional challenges)

Supporting learning both in and outside of the classroom

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored learning plans

Encouraging social interaction and emotional regulation

Promoting independence while offering consistent guidance and reassurance

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children with SEN (in school, care or similar settings)

A calm, compassionate and flexible approach

Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset

A valid, enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

A genuine passion for supporting the development of all children
