The School and Role

This committed SEND School based in East Sussex educates young people with SEND from ages 5 to 16 with severe and complex needs.

Here you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment. You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis or in a group with young people with severe and complex learning disabilities such as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders). This role requires a highly skilled, resilient, motivated, adaptable, committed, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with great communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting the Team Teacher. You will have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that has a child-centred approach in all they do.

Requirements
  • Experience of working with EYFS to post 16 aged young people
  • Completed recent physical intervention and de-escalation training
  • Be flexible, adaptable, and resilient
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND
  • A passion for the progress of pupils with SEND
  • An ability to work as part of a team
