Job summary

SEN Teaching Assistant - Work Locally in Derby

Up to £105 per day | Full-Time or Part-Time | Immediate Starts

We're building our team of SEN Teaching Assistants across Derby City and the surrounding communities, with opportunities available in both mainstream primary schools and specialist SEN settings.

Whether you're looking for regular full-time work or a few days each week, we'd like to understand where you live, how far you're happy to travel and what type of setting suits you.

Then we can look for opportunities that make sense.

You may prefer supporting children with additional needs within a mainstream primary classroom, working alongside the class teacher and SEND team.

Or you might want to develop more specialist experience in an SEN setting supporting pupils with more complex needs.

Depending on the school, your day could include:

- Working one-to-one with an individual pupil

- Supporting small intervention groups

- Helping children access classroom learning

- Reinforcing literacy, numeracy or communication activities

- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

- Encouraging independence and social interaction

- Working alongside teachers and specialist support staff

School experience is certainly useful, but it's not the only route into SEN support.
