Job summary

Academics is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with a specialist school supporting pupils with MLD, ASD, and complex needs. You’ll join a team of 3–5 TAs per class, helping with both Primary and Secondary pupils in classes up to 10 students.

The role offers full-time hours (08:30–15:30, Mon-Fri), with a September 2026 start or ASAP, and a permanent pathway from a temporary–permanent contract. Interviews ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or nursing, or working with learning difficulties is a plus.
• A passion for supporting children with SEN.
• Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to a therapeutic approach to education.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across Primary & Secondary ages alongside the Class Teacher and other staff.
• Maintain small class sizes (up to 10 students) and ensure individual attention for each pupil.
• Contribute to a nurturing, therapeutic environment and collaborative school routine.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the Class Teacher and other supporting staff to assist pupils across Primary & Secondary ages. Class sizes are up to 10 students, with 3/5 Teaching Assistants in each class, ensuring that every student gets the individual attention they need.
