Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the SEND team at an Outstanding secondary school and sixth form in Hackney, London. You will support students with a range of needs across KS3 to KS5 and assist teachers to deliver inclusive lessons.

This is a September 2026 start, full-time role offering the chance to build positive relationships with students and families while promoting positive behaviour and progress within a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, proactive and supportive approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Experience within a secondary school setting, desirable but not essential
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to students with SEND across KS3, KS4 and KS5
• Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Support pupils with needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties
• Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and progress
• Build strong relationships with students, staff and families
• Contribute to a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join the supportive SEND team, an Outstanding secondary school and sixth form located in Hackney.
